Registering and unlocking the system

The registration process is essential to ensure traceability in case of possible updates and communications.

Switching on the system

You will not be able to properly use the Smart Jacket you have purchased until the system registration and unlocking process is completed and the product is fully charged .

To ensure proper operation of the Smart Jacket, it is mandatory to complete the first battery charge. On the first battery charge, the LED will not turn green until 100% of the charge has been reached. In any case, it is preferable to fully charge the battery whenever possible.

D-air® application

If you purchased the Smart Jacket through an online purchase, you will need the application to register the product, available for PC and Mac, which can be downloaded at the following link d-air.dainese.com.

At the same address, you will find the detailed explanation on how to use the application. Attention: the application cannot be used from mobile devices (smartphones or tablets).

Shipping mode

Remember how and when to use the Send Mode. This is a fundamental function when transporting the Smart Jacket.
Shipping Mode inhibits the system from turning on, even if the magnetic button is accidentally closed.

How to activate Send Mode:

✓ Start the D-air® App
✓ Connect the product with the USB cable to the PC/Mac
✓ Click on Shipping Mode
✓ Check that, after having closed the magnetic button, the led light does not turn on.

To exit Shipping Mode you will only need to charge the Smart Jacket battery for a few seconds.

Firmware update

If a system firmware update is available , you will receive a communication from Dainese at the email address you entered during the registration phase.

The D-air® application also allows you to check directly whether updates are available. To do this, simply click on "System Update".

To update the system firmware, the Smart Jacket must of course be connected to the PC/Mac via USB cable.

Adjust your smart jacket

Use the handy Velcro straps inside the Smart Jacket to adjust the fit at the waist and show off a perfect fit both over and under any other garment. Adapt it to the outfit of your choice and your preferences.

Turn on the Dainese D-air® system

A simple and basic gesture, like fastening your helmet. Close the button at the neck of the Smart Jacket, you will feel a vibration on your chest: the Dainese D-air system is on. And now you are free to safely enjoy your experiences on the bike.

Control the multi-led display

The status of the Dainese D-air® system is always indicated by the multi-LED display located at chest level, on the left side. Easily visible through your bike's mirror. And if you decide to wear the Smart Jacket under another garment, no problem: a vibration alerts you when the system is correctly armed.
