Motorcycle hip protectors

Motorcycle hip protectors are still, to this day, some of the great unknowns in the world of motorcycling and motorcycle protection. Very few motorcyclists buy these motorcycle protection accessories, yet they are becoming more and more advanced, safer and more comfortable.

A motorcycle hip protector offers extra protection to the rider in the event of a fall, protecting what is, on the one hand, one of the most exposed areas in the event of a sideways fall and, on the other hand, a particularly sensitive area which, if damaged, could have a particularly delicate and complicated recovery.

Within the category of hip protectors for motorcyclists you can find both removable protectors and leggings with the protections included. The removable protection pieces are usually placed in small pockets that motorcycle pants have for the protection of the hips.

As for the leggings with protection, they are undergarments that are worn under the motorcycle pants and offer great safety with maximum comfort. These leggings, in addition to having pockets for the hip protector, also fulfill the functions of thermal motorcycle clothing, i.e. they help expel sweat to keep the body dry and maintain body temperature.

Motorcycle hip protectors, or any other type of protector, have two types of homologation, CE1 and CE2, CE2 being the highest level of protection currently available on the market. In addition, they come in soft, rigid and semi-rigid materials, so that each motorcyclist can choose the one that best suits their needs.
